Hail Paimon & Thrift Stores
If you are new here, WELCOME! I am so happy you are here. For all of you that reached out to see how I was doing after last week’s newsletter, Thank you. I really appreciate you. I’m doing much better.
This week’s episode of The Real Demons of Pop Culture is all about Paimon, King of Hell, 9th Spirit in the Ars Goaitia. Cool Cat. Owes me $5.
The film that brought Paimon into the pop culture spotlight is the 2018 psychological horror film Hereditary. And I’ll be honest, I watched it a few nights before recording my Paimon episode. I think Toni Collette’s performance is Oscar worthy but horror doesn’t usually get noticed by the Academy.
I was blown away at the sheer horror of this film. It really is creepy. I didn’t know what to expect going into the movie. I was pleasantly surprised. So if you love horror, I highly recommend it.
Last night I went LIVE on YouTube to show how you can summon King Paimon. You can watch the replay here.
I wasn’t at home so I had to go bare bones with my gear to make the show happen. It looks awful but sometimes you gotta do whacha gotta do to keep going. Consistency is key in social media. The YouTube LIVE isn’t taking off (yet) but I also go live on TikTok at the same time and that is very successful. Lots of great questions. So if you are around when I go LIVE I would love to chat with you in real time.
I am addicted to thrifting. I found a Lou Reed album at the thrift store this week. It is Transformer which really is probably my favorite Reed album (outside of The Velvet Underground) because he worked with David Bowie and Mick Ronson on Transformer. It’s always a perfect day when listening to this perfect album. I also picked up Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. It actually had one of the posters still with it (the pyramids one). If any of you love thrifting or going to yard sales, let me know your favorite find.
If you are a Marvel fan, She-Hulk came out this week. The first episode was a lot of fun. I love the actress who plays She-Hulk—Tatiana Maslany. She was the star of Ophan Black and can do anything.
Here are some links I hope you check out. Until next week, Peace & Love.
