Spooky Season is Here
It has been a while since I put out a newsletter. So, what have I been up to? Mainly, I have been working on promoting Book Worms Horror Zine. Issue 6, Season of the Witch, just came out, and it is selling fast. Regina and I worked very hard on this one, and getting both Grady Hendrix and Clay McLeod Chapman to write for our little zine is something we are very proud of accomplishing.
I am thrilled to have been part of creating what I would consider a collector’s item. Just think: You go to meet Grady Hendrix at an event, and not only do you bring his books for him to sign, but you are one of the few who have a Book Worms issue to get signed. As a collector myself, that excites me.
In addition, I love that we introduce new authors alongside established writers in the horror genre. Someone who picked up the zine for Clay Chapman will discover Cat Delani, Thea Hutcheson, and Justin K. Seeds.
If you want to start the spooky season off right, pick up the latest issue before it sells out.
We also moved from Etsy to Big Cartel. Etsy charges many fees from sellers, and recently, I had the worst customer service experience with Etsy. So far, I like Big Cartel.
Finally, Regina and I have been keeping up with The Right Brain Cafe podcast. If you want to introduce more creativity into your life, This is the podcast for you. I love our discussions on creating and the creative life.
I have other projects I am working on, but I won’t divulge those at this time, mostly because I don’t want people to expect something I might not deliver on, which is one of my most significant faults.

I hope everyone is doing well. If you want to draw this October, please join me in the 2nd Annual Pencilween. Here is the prompt list. If you post something, please use #pencilween2024. It starts tomorrow.
Peace,
James
